BladeRunner is a vertical axis wind turbine with a patented darrieus-savonius design. The 2.5 kW rated turbine is light weight and self starting. The design warrants easy installation and is virtually maintenance free. BladeRunner has been continuously improved over the last 5 years and all desired features have been convincingly demonstrated in a third prototype round in 2009 and 2010. The Design has been vetted and further improved by a large Defense Contractor jointly with the original design team. We are now developing a 4th and final prototype to be tested by various strategic customers.
The further development is done jointly with Renewable Manufacturing Gateway out of Pittsburgh, PA and Concurrent Technologies Corporation of Johnstown, PA. Real NewEnergy has launched a new special purpose company, BladeRunner LLC. Both RMG and CTC will become partners in the new venture.
